The Music Hall presents a night with Lyle Lovett and His Large Band.
Dubbed 'one of the most respected songwriters in contemporary country music' by the NY Times, Mr. Lovett is a four-time Grammy Award winner and performed with John Hiatt to a sell-out crowd at the Music Hall last year. This year Mr. Lovett returns with his Large Band to shake things up with a mix of country, folk, pop and swing. Lovett’s big band includes guitarists, a cellist, a pianist, a horn section, and a gospel-trained backup singer. Lyle Lovett is one of the most revered musicians of his time. Over the course of his career, his four Grammy Awards have included Best Country Album (1996 for 'The Road to Ensenada'), Best Country Duo/Group with Vocal (1994 for 'Blues For Dixie' with Asleep at the Wheel), Best Pop Vocal Collaboration (1994 for 'Funny How Time Slips Away' with Al Green), and Best County Male Vocal (1989 for 'Lyle Lovett and His Large Band'). The Texas-born singer/songwriter's appeal has lasted over two decades, thanks to critically acclaimed albums such as the Gold-certified albums 'Lyle Lovett' (1986), 'Pontiac' (1987), 'And His Large Band' (1989), and 'Joshua Judges Ruth' (1992), 'I Love Everybody' (1994), and 'The Road to Ensenada' (1996).
