Moxy is a modern American tapas restaurant focusing on smaller plates meant for sharing and taking our inspiration from our local farmers, culture and history.

Moxy is tapas in spirit, energy, style of dining and service, but American in execution, products, and inspiration. We aim to provide an everyday place that the community can come and have a drink and a few snacks, or multiple items shared with friends for a truly unique dinner experience.

We aim to be casual, energetic, and fun while providing a very high level of service and quality of food at the same time. Guests can eat at the bar, our community tables, or dining area overlooking the action below.

Our food takes its inspiration from a few very specific sources. Being true to a tapas restaurant some items are inspired directly by items that are iconic to the tradition of tapas, but done with our vision and location in Portsmouth in mind.

Many items are inspired by the deep and rich culinary history we have here in New England dating all the way back to colonial times and right up through our current culture, and then all done in a modern, fun way that is true to tapas and meant for sharing. Another source of inspiration is also the local bounty of foodstuffs available within arms reach from native buffalo, to the abundance of our coast, and of course the vast network of local farmers offering seemingly endless fruits, vegetables, grains, and oils.
