This year’s Pocket Garden Tour takes you into the heart of Portsmouth history. You will see historic gardens that bring past needs and sensibilities to life, and also the gardens of modern day settlers in Portsmouth’s historic center.
The self-guided tour includes seven private gardens graciously shared with us by their homeowners. In addition, enjoy four historic gardens connected to museum homes.
Along the route you will find musicians, artists, and refreshments. Also, stop by South Church to meet:
- Jill Nooney, creator of Bedrock Gardens, with her newly released book, Bedrock: The Making of a Public Garden.
- John Forti, executive director of Bedrock Gardens in Lee, NH and author of The Heirloom Gardener: Traditional Plants and Skills of the Modern World.
