Portsmouth NH 400 Book Launch

Portsmouth NH 400 is celebrating the publication of two books that look back on the commemorative events of 2023 — the city’s 400th anniversary. “History Lights Our Way” and the photography book “400 x 400” will be unveiled to the public during a special event at the Portsmouth Historical Society on Friday from 5-8 p.m. Learn more here.

‘Romeo & Her Sister’ at NHTP

New Hampshire Theatre Project’s final production of the season tells the rarely told story of 19th-century actor Charlotte Cushman, who broke ground with her portrayal of Romeo alongside her sister as Juliet in Shakespeare’s most famous romance. As per usual, it’s gonna be a party at The Stone Church in Newmarket this weekend. Jazz Is Phish plays instrumental mashups of jazz classics and Phish songs on Friday at 9 p.m. ($20). Upwards of 150 vendors will set up shop in Portsmouth for Market Square Day 2024 on Saturday. Thousands of visitors to the city’s downtown hub will enjoy live entertainment, products, and food offered by artists, crafters, and merchants from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. — alongside the annual Market Square Day 10K Road Race.
