Two shows on the Button Factory Stage

Alternative rock bands are flocking to WSCA Radio in Portsmouth. Boston-based indie acts dedpixels and The Ghouls share the Button Factory Stage on Friday from 7-10 p.m. ($10-$15). Spend your weekend genre-jumping at The Dance Hall in Kittery. Mother-son folk duo Ruth & Ben String Band performs with “Old Time” Dave Talmage Band on Friday from 7:30-9:30 p.m. ($10-$22). Club d’Elf blends traditional Moroccan music with electronic, dubbed-out funk on Saturday from 7:30-9 p.m. ($15-$25). Warren Miller’s 75 at The Music Hall

Winter sports season is almost upon us, and that means it’s time for another Warren Miller film. Celebrate 75 years of ski and snowboard filmmaking with “Warren Miller’s 75” on the big screen at The Music Hall in Portsmouth on Thursday and Friday at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $25-$27. “Cats” at the Seacoast Repertory Theatre

The Seacoast Repertory Theatre is putting a holiday spin on a timeless classic. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s beloved musical “Cats” is on stage in Portsmouth from Nov. 15 through Dec. 22. Starry Night at the Portsmouth Historical Society

The Portsmouth Historical Society will be the site of a lively fundraising event for Star Island on Saturday from 5-7:30 p.m. The annual Starry Night community fundraiser features live music, a raffle, local food and drinks, and a speech from keynote speaker Alex De Steiguer, the island’s winter caretaker. Zachariah Hickman’s Power Outage Party

Tickets are going fast for The Word Barn’s weekend events in Exeter. David Francey‘s Friday night show is sold out, and so is Night 1 of Zachariah Hickman’s Power Outage Party on Saturday.
