“Losing Winter” exhibit at 3S Artspace

A highlights of this month’s Art ‘Round Town gallery walk in Portsmouth is an exhibit of photographs, videos, and sounds of winter at 3S Artspace. It’s a packed weekend at The Word Barn in Exeter. Folk-rock outfit The Wolff Sisters kicks things off on Friday from 7-9 p.m. ($25). Saturday brings an indie-folk double-bill featuring local acts Foxglove and Sneaky Miles from 7-9 p.m. ($22). Powerhouse jazz septet The Cookers will bring over 250 years of combined experience to the stage of Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Cub in Portsmouth this weekend. Sarah Vaughan tribute at The Dance Hall

A local icon will pay tribute to a jazz legend at The Dance Hall in Kittery this weekend. Vocalist (and Portsmouth native) Sharon Jones and her all-star band will present a special concert titled “Remembering Sarah Vaughan,” performing music by the late great jazz singer, on Friday from 7:30-9 p.m. Tickets are $17-$22. “Sister Act” at the Seacoast Rep

Seems like a good time to tune out the news and enjoy a feel-good musical comedy. Based on the hit 1992 film, “Sister Act” is on stage at the Seacoast Repertory Theatre in Portsmouth through March 16. The annual Life & Death in the Piscataqua Symposium returns to Portsmouth on Saturday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Masonic Temple.
