About the Student Concert:
With the faculty band (and special guests), students will perform songs from the classic rock cannon, from Nirvana and Led Zeppelin to Bikini Kill and the Surfaris. Special guest guitar and vocal students will round out the performance. Get ready to be rocked by the next generation!
About Drum teacher Laura Cromwell:
Self-taught, and steeped in the DIY punk aesthetic from the beginning, Laura has a unique perspective as a teacher. Her students learn fundamentals of course, but also acquire a more invaluable skill: to trust themselves and follow their instincts. Laura takes her students seriously, no matter their age or level, and her warm, down-to-earth personality allows them to flourish in a non-judgmental environment. Besides all of this, Laura is a kick-ass drummer and an inspiration to watch on stage.
About the Hibernaculum:
The Hibernaculum is a small, multi-disciplinary studio in South Berwick, Maine, run by Laura Cromwell and John Mettam. We offer one-on-one drum lessons; workshops in music, art and nature; open studio events and concerts; and resources for growing and planting a habitat garden.
