Mega Mango embarked on their musical journey in 2018 with the release of “You Spent All Your Love,” a defining indie rock anthem that catapulted them into the spotlight. Vocalist Crow Costello (they/them), guitarist Alex Spagnolia (he/him), bassist Niko Jones (he/him), and drummer Sam Poll (he/him) persevered through the challenges of young adulthood and a pandemic-induced hiatus, giving birth to the distinctive “Phruitcore” sound—a fusion of indie bedroom rock enriched with intensified bass, drums, and warmer tones. Their resilience is evident in the latest release, the “You Spent All Your Love (Anniversary Edition)” single, a testament to their evolution and creativity.

Beyond the music, Mega Mango has made waves in the industry, garnering features in multiple blogs, magazines, interviews, and radio broadcasts. Their strategic marketing efforts have cultivated a significant online presence, amassing over 36,000 followers on TikTok and 9,000+ on Instagram, along with strong followings on YouTube, Bandsintown, Twitter, and Facebook. Notable achievements include two live sessions with Audiotree in Chicago and Sagehouse Live in Florida, opening for acts like DURRY, COIN, Your Neighbors, and collaborations with the University of Delaware’s MelUDees on “You Spent All Your Love – Choir Version.”

As Mega Mango celebrates their 5-year anniversary, they continue to break new ground. With an upcoming fall 2023 tour alongside DURRY, playing 11 shows across the East Coast, and the release of “Space Kids” on October 17—an anthem originally written during the Hit the Dirt era in 2019—the band is poised for a new era of music. Their journey is further enriched by features in PLEASER Magazine alongside Annie DiRusso and Briston Maroney, as well as the anticipation of a new album in 2024. Mega Mango’s 12-month Spotify statistics, rounding up to 650,000 listeners, 5.5 million streams, 288,000 playlist adds, and a dedicated following of almost 17,000, reflects the growing influence and exciting chapters awaiting them.

Feelings of exploration, uncertainty and self-discovery are the basis on which frontman Taylor Neal began writing new material four years ago. Today, Neal along with longtime friends and collaborators, have emerged from their cocoon as Teal Peel. Motifs of insect life, days at the beach and aquatic adventures are the inspiration behind their debut album ‘Country River.
