This blast of warm weather overlaps with some fantastic events on the Seacoast. Here are some highlights.
Exhibits at the Seacoast Artist Association

The Seacoast Artist Association opens three exhibits with a reception in Exeter on Friday from 5-8 p.m. They include two Body of Work solo shows by Stratham’s Marcia Trahan and Exeter’s Ellen Kingsbury, and a Member Photographers Show featuring new images by local photographers. Harpist Regina Delaney will provide live music.
Concerts at The Word Barn

The Ghost of Paul Revere co-founder Griffin William Sherry is splitting the bill with Americana band Cold Chocolate for an early show (6-8 p.m.) and a late show (9-11 p.m.) at The Word Barn in Exeter on Friday ($25). Local legend Jon Nolan (of Say ZuZu) follows with his new band Good Co. on Saturday from 8-10 p.m. ($20). Learn more here.
Live music at The Dance Hall

It’s a packed weekend at The Dance Hall in Kittery. Local acoustic ensemble Rhythm Future Quartet (above) keeps Gypsy jazz alive with a performance on Friday from 7:30-9 p.m. ($20-$25). Boston-based traditional jazz and blues band Annie and the Fur Trappers follows on Saturday from 7:30-9 p.m. ($17-$22). Boston-based fiddle maestro Hanneke Cassel brings her Americana band on Sunday from 3-4:30 p.m. ($17-$22). Learn more here.
‘Ride the Cyclone’ at 3S Artspace

RGC Theatre’s high-octane comedy “Ride the Cyclone” is in Portsmouth all weekend at 3S Artspace. The plot follows a group of children competing in a mysterious afterlife contest after a fatal roller coaster accident. Show times are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $25-$80. Learn more here.
Music from the Button Factory Stage

Some great regional bands are taking the Button Factory Stage at Portsmouth Community Radio this weekend. Folk-punk band A Day Without Love headlines on Friday with local openers Ratland and Seven Opal from 8-11 p.m. ($10). Saturday is Bluegrass Night with sets from Cousin Bobby and Bitter Pill from 8-11 p.m. ($10). Portland-based psych-folk band Jes wraps up an East Coast tour with a show on Sunday from 8-11 p.m. ($10). Learn more here.
Concerts at The Stone Church

Echoes of Floyd will play Pink Floyd’s 1977 album “Animals” and other tunes at The Stone Church in Newmarket on Friday at 9 p.m. ($20). Folk-rock favorites Sneaky Miles and The Kenny Brothers Band bring their spring tour to town for a gig with The Crowded Table on Saturday at 8 p.m. ($15). The Afternotes celebrate 10 years of a capella music with The New Hampshire Notables and The Heart Beats on Sunday from 4-6:45 p.m. ($15). Learn more here.
Story Time at Dover Public Library

Dover Public Library will host a story time for adults (and kids) on Saturday at 2 p.m. Local storyteller extraordinaire Mark Michael Adams will share a story enhanced by live musical performances by local singer-songwriter Guy Capecelatro III and band Cursed on Earth. Crown Jules at The Press Room

Six mainstays of the Seacoast music scene join forces in R&B and soul band Crown Jules. With Jules Eatmon and Carrie Boeing on vocals, Jim Dozet on guitar, Nick Phaneuf on bass, Chris Sink on keys, and George Laliotis on drums, they’ll perform live at The Press Room in Portsmouth on Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10-$15. Storytelling Festival at NHTP

New Hampshire Theatre Project’s seventh annual Storytelling Festival will take place live in Portsmouth and online on Saturday from 8-9 p.m. Six storytellers will share traditional tales, personal stories, and spoken word performances, with live musical accompaniment from Ben Baldwin and Kent Allyn. Three Dog Night at The Music Hall

Few musical acts have produced as many hit songs as legendary rock band Three Dog Night. They’ve recorded more than 20 Top 40 singles, including 11 Top 10s. Fans can hear many of those songs performed live in concert when the band plays at The Music Hall in Portsmouth on Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $62-$98. Learn more here.
