Button Factory Open Studios

The artists of the Button Factory Studios in Portsmouth will open their doors virtually for tours and shopping this weekend, beginning Friday at 4 p.m. The event site will remain open through Sunday, with a live studio portion taking place Saturday from 12-4 p.m. The annual open-studio event will feature work in all mediums by local artists and craftspeople to help with your holiday shopping. Owl Prowl at The Word Barn Meadow

Educators from the Center for Wildlife will return to The Word Barn Meadow in Exeter on Friday for an environmental program focused on species, ecology, and adaptations of native owls. Following a presentation with live birds, guests will take a short stroll through the surrounding habitat to call for owls. The event is from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 (free for kids 10 and under) and must be booked in advance. For more information, click here.

Pontine presents ‘A White Heron’

Pontine Theatre artistic directors Greg Gathers and Marguerite Mathews will present their original adaptation of “A White Heron” online this weekend. The show, based on South Berwick native Sarah Orne Jewett’s beloved story, features toy theater, shadow puppetry, and a rolling panorama, all created by Gathers. Show times are Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $24-$27. For more information, click here.

Senie Hunt album release show

Senie Hunt

Percussive guitarist and singer-songwriter Senie Hunt will play a release show for his new Christmas album, “Winter Meadow,” at The Stone Church in Newmarket this weekend. Hunt, a native of Sierra Leone now based in Memphis, has opened for heavyweights like Richard Thompson and Robert Randolph. Stage Door Cabaret at The Music Hall

The Music Hall in Portsmouth kicks off its new Stage Door Cabaret series with a pair of back-to-back performances by Taylor O’Donnell on Saturday from 6-7 p.m. and 8-9 p.m. The local vocalist and her band will present an evening of holiday music, including Christmas songs and winter-themed tunes.
