The weekend before Thanksgiving brings lots of art, live music, and holiday festivities to the Seacoast. Here are a few of the notable highlights.
‘woven female landscapes’ at 3S Artspace

An upcoming exhibit at 3S Artspace in Portsmouth addresses the complex relationship between female and feminine identity. ‘woven female landscape’ features sculptures and installations by Boston-based artist Linda Pagani. The show opens Friday during regular gallery hours and will be on display through Jan. 3. Visitors are invited to fold their own flower-shaped paper cutouts to add to the “Garden of Eve” installation. Learn more here.
Trio of shows at The Stone Church

The Stone Church in Newmarket continues its slate of fall shows with three concerts this weekend. First up on Friday from 7-10 p.m. is an album release show by Americana artist George Barber, who will be joined by Town Meeting member Derek Fimbel. On Saturday from 5-8 p.m. is legendary Maine-based rock band Rustic Overtones. And on Sunday from 3-5 p.m., local favorites Soggy Po’ Boys take the stage. Tickets are sold by the table.
New SZN Art Series at the Rep

A new series at the Seacoast Repertory Theatre in Portsmouth features live performances and interviews with up-and-coming artists. Part of the Sol Series, it’s hosted by Najee Brown and Courtney Symone. On the bill for the first installment on Friday from 8-11 p.m. are headlining artist and actor Paul Gee, young musician Kaia Mac, and local dancer Anthony Bounphakhom & The Block. Turkey Trot Virtual 5K

The Seacoast Rotary’s 12th annual Turkey Trot 5K will take on a virtual format over Thanksgiving week, allowing runners to participate while staying socially distanced. Participants can run the traditional course or a 5k route of their own choosing at any time between Nov. 21-28. Runners this year can also join a costume contest for a chance to win prizes. The cost of registration is $30 for adults, $20 for teens, or $10 for youths. Learn more here.
Great New England Holiday Craft & Artisan Show

About 100 artists, craftspeople, and specialty food artisans will offer handmade wares at the Great New England Holiday Craft & Artisan Show this weekend. The event takes place at the spacious Rim Sports Complex in Hampton on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Offerings include artwork, pottery, apparel, wood decor, home wares, candles, jewelry, food, and more, plus live music and door prizes.
